West Bay Family YMCA

Family

The YMCA of Greater Providence offers a safe and welcoming environment where parents and kids can communicate, cooperate and care for each other. Family nights and days give families the chance to have fun in a caring and warm atmosphere. Ever-popular pool and gym components help family members relax and fight stress.

The goal of YMCA Family Programs is to help individuals grow spiritually, mentally, and physically and for children and parents to spend quality time together.

Our YMCA serves and supports families through a variety of programs that fall into six categories.  Please see below for detailed information:

  • Social and Recreation Programs

In today’s society, it is extremely important for children and families to socialize together while participating in a program that is more recreational than structured. All of our Family Programs offer the chance to spend quality time as a family while also developing new friendships and partnerships.

  • Family Special Events

It’s always fun to participate in a special event with the entire family! At the West Bay Family YMCA,  we offer several special events throughout the year that families can participate in together. Click here to link back to the News and Events page. Don’t forget to visit our Calendar of Events to see what’s happening in the future!

  • Active Family Programs

As a leader in Activate America, many of the programs and activities offered at our YMCA are designed to keep families active together. These include family swim and family yoga to name a few. Please visit our program brochure for a complete list of active family programs. • Family Resources and Support

The West Bay Family YMCA has become an integral part of North Kingstown and surrounding communities. As our involvement has grown, local families continuously look to us to provide family resources and additional support. For more information on how we can help support you and your family, please contact Heidi Morris our Family Program Director at 295-6501 or hmorris@gpymca.org .

  • Family Volunteerism

Nothing feels better than donating your time to help others! The West Bay Family YMCA provides opportunities for individuals and families to volunteer their time reading to children, assisting in our Prime Time Family Time program or even helping with a special event. If you are interested please contact Barbara Mackisey our volunteer coordinator.

    Prime Time Family Time

We understand how important it is for families to be able to go to the YMCA together, which is why we offer our Prime Time and X-Time programs. Parents can drop children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old off to participate in fun games and activities that are staff led. This is a benefit of our family memberships. Download our calendar for days and times. Also feel free to download our Prime Time/X-Time member guide to learn about safety precautions and rules and regulations. Download our child information form to bring with you on your first visit to Prime Time and X-Time.
