Pat and Ed Ciccione

It was October, 2006 -- Pat was thinking about a lifestyle change when she asked personal trainer, Janine, how to get started. By January, 2007, Pat asked a co-worker to join Weight Watchers with her. “I was not feeling good and believed it was time to do something.” By March she started personal training with Janine because she wanted to do something more. “I learned early on that personal training is a partnership. My trainer worked hard for me and I had to commit to work hard on the days we were not together.”

Pat also enjoyed participating in the recent Biggest Winner completion. She especially liked training with others and trying new classes.

It’s been a year since this journey started for Pat. She has lost 70 lbs., no longer requires high blood pressure medication and she feels just great! “This is a new lifestyle for me. I’m in it for the rest of my life!” The combination of personal training and Weight Watchers works for Pat.

While Pat is making healthy lifestyle changes her husband, Ed, is watching her transformation, noticing neighbors becoming more fit, and recognizing his brother’s weight loss. “Maybe it’s time for me to do something, too”, he thought.

Pat told him about the Biggest Winner contest and he knew right away that it was the program for him. “I like structure and felt this would be something I could do. Besides, I like a little competition, too.”

“We started out easy and each week we were challenged with something more by my trainers, Lynn and Kathy. And, I wanted to make the most of this experience, so I went to My Pyramid. I learned about portion sizes and the number of servings I need. I quickly learned just how much I had been overeating.”

With Ed’s efforts, support from the YMCA, and the Pyramid program, he shed 38 pounds and no longer needs his blood pressure medication. He is currently training for the Wild Dog Triathlon in August as a means to keep up his fitness regimen.

Today, Pat and Ed enjoy their new lifestyle. They share fitness tips and nutrition information, often work out together, and are having fun. Working together as a couple and with the YMCA, this couple packs a punch!
