South County YMCA

Overview and Registration Forms

Like all YMCA programs, our Mission drives our camps…Build Spirit, Mind and Body…get back to nature, get out of the city, and refresh spirits, minds and bodies. Amidst the beauty of nature, YMCA camps promote our values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.

YMCA camps strive to create a safe and caring community for your child. We want all children to feel welcome and accepted. Every day will offer your child new experiences, the chance to develop new skills and the opportunity to make new friends. We offer camps with varied focus, such as nature, sports, art, theatre, music, horseback, computer, gymnastics, and leadership development. All of our programs are designed to encourage group participation, cooperation, build self- confidence and allow children to develop individual interests. No matter what camp you choose, your child will receive a well-balanced experience; by having both their physical and emotional needs met.

Our camp staff is made up of individuals committed to making your child’s camping experience fun, safe and memorable. Our camp staff consists of many year-round childcare staff and college students with pertinent childcare experience and/or education. All YMCA of Greater Providence camp staff are required to undergo thorough background checks, which include personal and professional reference checks, criminal background checks and child abuse/neglect and/or sexual offender record checks through the state they are employed in. Camp staff are also first aid and CPR certified.

YMCA camps are accredited by the American Camping Association and approved by the Department of Health in the state of RI or the State of Massachusetts. Our camps meet or exceed the requirements of the National YMCA and the American Camping Association.
