Are you looking for a Traditional Day Camp Experience for your child? Perhaps they would prefer one of our Specialty Camps? Whatever your child prefers, the Cranston YMCA has a camp for them! From our ACA accredited Camp Massasoit in Johnston which offers children ages 5 to 17 an outdoor camping experience to our specialty camps at the Cranston YMCA & Peter Pastore Teen Center our camps are designed to build spirit, mind and body. Get back to nature, get out of the city, and enjoy the beauty of nature at the Cranston YMCA's Camp Massasoit.
We strive to create a safe and caring community for your child. We want all children to feel welcome and accepted. Every day will offer new experiences, the chance to develop new skills and the opportunity to make new friends. We offer camps with varied focus, such as nature, sports, art, theater, music, computer, and leadership development. All of our programs are designed to encourage group participation, cooperation, build self-confidence and allow children to develop individual interests. No matter what camp you choose, your child will receive a well-balanced experience, by having both their physical and emotional needs met.
Our camps offer extended care options, which make them a great choice for working parents! New this season we will providing lunch for all of our campers.
Our camp staff is made up of individuals committed to making your child’s camping experience fun, safe and memorable. Our camp staff consists of many year-round child-care staff and college students with pertinent child-care experience and/or education. All YMCA of Greater Providence camp staff are required to undergo thorough background checks, which include personal and professional reference checks, criminal background checks and child abuse/neglect and/or sexual offender record checks through the state they are employed in. Camp staff members are also first aid and CPR certified.
YMCA camps are accredited by the American Camping Association and approved by the Departments of Health in Rhode Island or Massachusetts. Our camps meet or exceed the requirements of the National YMCA and the American Camping Association. We are also pleased to partnership with many local collaborations, including Meeting St. School, which provides outdoor camping opportunities to disabled children every year.

The Cranston YMCA camp offerings include:
Kindercamp for ages 3-5
Kindercamp is held at the Cranston YMCA in our Nursery School room. Kindercamp is a full day day camp that operates from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Campers are involved in activities such as storytelling, singing, arts and crafts, swimming and field trips. This camp is run by a certified teacher with a masters degree early childhood education.
Camp Massasoit for ages 5 to 17

ur beautiful camp facility is located off Route 6 in Johnston, RI. Our camp includes; a beautiful large sandy beach for swimming and boating, a wonderful ball field along with a full size basketball court. We also offer programs that include; dance, crafts, fashion and music for those who injoy the arts. Children are provided with a variety of activities each day.
As always, we work hard to provide a stimulating and safe atmosphere for our children.
Skills Camps for ages 5 to 17
This camp includes Drama, Basketball, Cheer / Dance, Bike Camp, Soccer Camp, Music Camp and much more! Some of our Skills Camps are held at the Cranston YMCA and Peter Pastore Youth Center, while some are conducted at Camp Massasoit.
Specialty Camps for ages 7-17
Specialty camps include Travel Camp, Woodworking, Golf and Strength Training Camps. Some of our Specialty Camps are held at the Cranston YMCA and Peter Pastore Youth Center, while some are conducted at Camp Massasoit.
