Teens

The South County YMCA provides teens with personal, social and recreational programs in a safe and positive environment that will teach leadership and responsibility. Teen programs are created to promote growth in respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring. Your teen will grow new friendships, build confidence and discover personal talents. The YMCA can help youth find positive opportunities in life that lead to happiness and success.

  • Middle School Program

    For the times you can’t be there yourself, the YMCA supports your efforts to nurture your child’s healthy development. Well-trained staff members provide safe, affordable, high-quality care so you can have peace of mind while you work or continue your education. Please see our Child Care page for more details.

  • Swim Classes

    These lessons are created for the teen ages 13 to 17. The classes are appropriate for all swim levels, beginner to advanced. For a complete list of times and days please see our program brochure.

  • Leaders' Club

    The South County YMCA leaders' club provides a social setting to discuss teen issues, develop leadership and teamwork skills, become involved in community service and volunteer opportunities, and meet teens throughout New England. The Leaders' Club is for high school students and the Junior Leaders' Club is for middle school students.   • Teen Basketball

    Teen Basketball is offered in a competitive and non-competitive setting for teens. There are two co-ed travel teams that are designed for teens to stay in shape and have some fun during the summer months. There also is Friday Night Hoops, which is for high school students ages 13 to 18. For a complete list of times and days, please see our program brochure.

  • Babysitting Basics

    This seven-week instructional course includes many topics, such as babysitting responsibilities, accident prevention, emergency procedure, and basic care of children. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a YMCA Certificate of Participation. This program is open to children ages 11 to 17.   • Teen World Summer Camp

    These teen camps are open to Grades 6 to Grade 11 and are available all summer in two-week sessions. All of these camps include team building, arts and crafts, sports and recreation, woods games, archery, swim, and phenomenal fun.
