    This fun, structured gymnastics class includes creative movement and the development of gross-motor skills introduced in a creative, safe, and fun atmosphere. Child must already be 3 years old to register.

  • Preschool Combination Dance

    Ages 3-6
    This is a fun, structured dance class. Dancers will learn the basics of Ballet, Tap, and Acro in a creative, safe environment. Dress for all preschool classes are black tap shoes, pink ballet shoes, and appropriate dance attire. Classes are offered per session or September–December with a culminating holiday recital in December.      Mini Company Ages 4-7
    In the Kent County YMCA Dance Performance Company, dancers will learn important lessons of dedication, loyalty, teamwork, focus on creativity and choreography and the Y’s core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. The company will participate in YMCA events. All dancers are required to come to rehearsals in addition to regular class times. If you are interested in having the unforgettable experience of performing, this dance company is for you. Prerequisite: Must be registered for another dance class.

  • Travel Basketball *NEW*

     Ages 10-12
    The Kent County YMCA is excited to announce the formation of this competitive travel basketball team. This team will compete against other Y’s and recreational teams in the Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts area. Tryouts will be held on Saturday, October 18th from 3:30 until 5:00 p.m. Children must be 10 as of September 1, 2008.

    Member $200        Program Participant $250
    This fee will be expected for each player that makes the team. This will cover shirts, shorts and all tournament fees.

  • Youth Tennis

    Ages 6-12
    Come learn tennis skills, or enhance ones you already know. Participants will play on our own Kent County YMCA courts. Come have fun and meet new people!

  • Boys Gymnastics

    Ages 5-7
    A beginner gymnastics class just for boys. This class, based on progressions, builds self-confidence, coordination, and is fun! The focus events are floor, bars, and vault. No prior experience is necessary. Appropriate apparatus skills will also be introduced on balance beam, uneven bars and vault.

  • Youth Gymnastics Classes

    Ages 6-10
    Join our growing gymnastics program. First-graders through teens can develop gymnastics skills, self-confidence and coordination while having fun. New participants are welcome at all levels.   • Level 1

     Ages 6 & Up
    The first developmental level of YMCA’s Progressive Gymnastics Program. This class is for the first time student, and for those who have been away from the sport for a while. Students must be at least 6 years old to register. Students will advance per the discretion of the instructor based on skill requirement report cards given out at the end of each session.

  • Level 2

    Ages 7 & Up
    This is the second developmental level in the YMCA Progressive Gymnastics program. Swingers will build on elements learned in the Level 1 class. Pre-requisite: Students must have taken our Rollers class for a minimum of one session or per instructors discretion.

  • Level 3

    Ages 7 & Up

  • Men’s 5-on-5 Basketball

     Ages 18 & Up
    Season: September 14th-December 14th
    Teams will consist of 5-10 players. There will be a mandatory captains meeting on Sunday, September 7th at 6:00 p.m. Paperwork, waivers and team money are due before September 14th.
