MATTER OF BALANCE
Many older adults report that the fear of falling keeps them from engaging in many activities, from food shopping and doctor visits to social events and community activities. Our Matter of Balance program reduces the fear of falling and gradually increases activity levels. Additionally, this class helps participants set realistic goals for increasing activity, and offers ways to change their environment to reduce the risk of falls and use exercise to improve strength and balance. Participants in this program are generally over 60 years of age, and ambulatory.
