Pepsi Awards Grants to 7 Local YMCAs

Each branch receives $2,500 grant for health and wellness programming.
Seven branches of the YMCA of Greater Providence recently received a total of $17,500 in grants from Pepsi to help more people achieve healthier lifestyles.
Grants were awarded to Bayside Family Y in Barrington, East Side/Mount Hope Y in Providence, Kent County Y in Warwick, Newman Y in Seekonk, Providence Youth Services, South County Y in Wakefield, and West Bay Family Y in North Kingstown.
These grants will support a wide range of activities including programs for cancer survivors in Providence and Warwick, Eat Cheap Family Nights in Seekonk, wellness programs for individuals with chronic illness in South County and a high school fitness program in North Kingstown.
The relationship between the YMCA and Pepsi is part of Activate America, a national initiative to encourage individuals and families to become more physically active and make better nutritional choices.
