On Sunday, October 26, People’s Credit Union will host a 5K run to support the South County YMCA’s Financial Assistance Campaign. The 5K race on October 26 supports the South County Y’s Financial Assistance Campaign.

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with a 1 mile Fun Run just for kids under 12. The 5K begins at 11:30 and will be followed by a Harvest Festival featuring games, activities, and food for everyone. Prizes will be awarded to winners in each category and special giveaways will be available for everyone who participates. Runners are encouraged to wear costumes.

The Financial Assistance Fund at the South County YMCA provides aid to those members of the community who otherwise would not be able to participate. Funds raised through the Y's Financial Assistance Campaigns support memberships, child care and camp scholarships, military families, and programs for survivors of cancer and other illnesses.

The entry fee is $18 before October 20 and $20 after. For children under 12 who want to participate in the 5K, it’s $10. The Kids 1 Mile Fun Run is free.
