YMCA of Greater Providence announces leadership team
The YMCA of Greater Providence recently named four individuals to key positions that oversee the organization’s charitable mission objectives.
Karen Leslie was selected as the YMCA of Greater Providence’s President/CEO by the association’s volunteer board of directors. She previously held the position of vice president of operations. She will provide leadership and oversight to the organization’s mission objectives, work with community leaders to deliver the YMCA’s resources where they are needed, and support initiatives that are critical to engaging individuals in a healthy lifestyle.
Robin McDonald has joined the YMCA of Greater Providence as chief operations officer. She will ensure cohesiveness among the branches for efficient operations, and ensure that the association’s program offerings are aligned with community needs. Previously, she was a management consultant for the YMCA of the USA, and has 23 years' experience as a YMCA professional. She has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Vermont.
Jill Nosach was named vice president of fund development. She will develop and oversee the YMCA’s major and planned giving, annual giving, capital campaigns, and endowment fundraising. Her almost 20 years of fund-raising experience include positions with Save The Bay, Bryant University, and The Coast Guard Foundation. She will provide the leadership to realize the financial capabilities that will support the YMCA for necessary growth and program delivery opportunities. She has a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Bryant University where she graduated cum laude.
Cheryl Bongivengo was promoted to chief financial officer from her previous position as the YMCA’s controller. She will be responsible for the financial stewardship of the organization, ensuring that branch accounting practices align with association strategic objectives. She has more than 25 years of accounting experience and holds a BA degree in business administration from the University of South Florida and an MBA in international management from Mercer University in Atlanta.
