RI Department of Elderly Affairs Offers YMCA Scholarship
April 30, 2009
Grant program offers camp scholarships for children of senior caregivers.
The YMCA of Greater Providence has received funding from the RI Department of Elderly Affairs to provide camp and child care opportunities to children in the primary care of a senior citizen (aged 60 and over).
The RI Department of Elderly Affairs will provide scholarships for children, aged 5 to 16, who are in the primary care of a senior citizen. Participants must be residents of Rhode Island.
Children may participate in YMCA summer day camp, school vacation activities, and afterschool programs.
The program allows children to enroll in educational, recreational, and personal development activities that will enrich their lives while providing primary caregivers with a much-needed break to address their own needs.
