October 3, 2008

After several months of construction and hard work, the Cranston YMCA announces the opening of a brand new, state-of-the-art, fully functional Fitness and Wellness Center. Check out photos of the new center.

The new space offers rows and rows of treadmills, elliptical trainers, and rowers, as well as Nautilus and free weight areas. The state-of-the-art treadmills are iPod compatible, offering digital screens with televisions and detailed workout programs.

Flat screen televisions have been added to the walls and a café area has been created to give members a place to rest and relax before or after their workouts. A brand new group fitness room will offer a regular schedule of classes from aerobics to yoga and pilates.

“The new Fitness and Wellness Center is not just about the latest and greatest fitness equipment,” said Michael Fournier, Vice President of the YMCA of Greater Providence, “but creating a sense of community that welcomes our members and provides them with the tools and support to achieve their health and wellness goals.”
