Below is the price structure and a list of frequently asked questions. Please read through all the questions, and then fill out the membership application.
If you are not interested in joining the Y, but want to register for a program, i.e. signing up a child for swim class or camp – you will need to create an online account - this is not a membership. You are signing up for one specific program, and are not entitled to all the benefits of membership.
If you are interested in joining the Y and starting your membership today you need to create an online account. Creating a membership with one of the YMCA branches, the membership allows you full use of the facilities, and all the benefits of a membership.

What is My Y is Every Y?
Your membership at any branch of the YMCA of Greater Providence allows you free access* to any YMCA membership facility in New England. All YMCA members from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island ,and Vermont are welcome free to YMCA’s across New England.** Some restrictions may apply, so check the Y you plan to visit by going to their website before visiting. You must use your own home YMCA at least 50% of the time. Learn more about My Y is Every Y.
*Primary use of your Y membership should be at the branch where you are enrolled – your home branch. We welcome the reasonable use of facilities by reciprocal agreement and reserve the right to determine abuse and limit or terminate use on an individual basis. Participants may not be eligible for member program rates at reciprocal locations.
**YMCA’s in Newton, MA and on Martha Vineyard do not honor My Y Is Every Y in New England.
Is Financial Assistance Available?
YMCA membership and programs are open to everyone. Financial assistance is made available to those who cannot afford the services the YMCA provides. As a charitable organization, our mission is to ensure that Y services are available and accessible to all, regardless of ability to pay. All members receive the same membership benefits regardless of whether or not they receive financial assistance. Financial assistance is made possible through donations to our Y’s. May I donate to the Y?
Once a year we hold a campaign that raises funds from our members and community to help support our financial assistance program. We hope you will consider a gift to the YMCA. Anyone who would like to support the work of the YMCA of Greater Providence is welcome to donate. Additionally, many companies and organizations have Matching Gift programs – the company will match the employee’s donation to the employee’s charity of choice. We are pleased that families, individuals, corporations, foundations, churches, civic organizations, and government grants all support the work of the Y. We look forward to seeing your donation.
Can I get a refund if I decide to leave the Y?
New members have 30 days from the inception date of membership to decide if the YMCA is the place for them. If you are not completely satisfied you will receive a full refund, including the joiner’s fee. To do so, you must complete the appropriate form available at the Welcome Center. The form must be completed no later than 30 days after the date on your membership receipt.
If you have been a member for a period of time, and decide to cancel your membership you will receive a refund of unused months if you pay annually. If you pay your fees monthly, through our automatic payment plan, you may cancel with a 30-day written notice. Unused portions of monthly dues will not be refunded.
The YMCA of Greater Providence has the ability to defer or “put on hold” a membership for a maximum of four months annually. A 30 day written notice is required. After four months the membership will automatically be reinstated. Annual memberships will be extended for up to four months from the original anniversary date.
