Child Care

Our commitment to quality is reflected in every child’s smile.

The YMCA of Greater Providence serves approximately 2,000 children per day in Y Child Care programs. Through the cooperative efforts of our certified staff and the Y’s Parent Advisory Committees, we are able to meet children’s needs - and exceed parents’ expectations.

Y Child Care staff:
• possess nurturing, caring qualities.
• are certified and qualified for their positions.
• have passed an extensive criminal background check.
• receive ongoing education through the YMCA training program, to remain informed about child abuse prevention and identification; safety; positive reinforcement techniques; responsiveness and notification procedures; and other appropriate topics.

Y Child Care centers:
• are inspected and licensed by the state in which they operate.
• follow curriculum standards developed by the YMCA of the USA.
• maintain an appropriate staff/child ratio.
• are “family friendly”.

The YMCA offers financial assistance through its Strong Kids Fund and accepts third party payments, ensuring that high quality child care is affordable and accessible to all.
