Out of School Time

Out of School Time programming focuses on increasing each student's academic achievement through engaging enrichment classes and a highly successful Reading Intervention program. We are dedicated to closing the achievement gap for our under-served students and providing them with every opportunity for success. Students in our Out of School Time programs increase their reading levels and test scores and have fun!

Summer Learning Programs

To combat the ever-increasing achievement gap caused by summer learning loss and provide the best resources to help children succeed, our summer learning programs give continued academic enrichment all summer long. We are extremely aware of the issues of summer learning loss and the impact it can have on the children. By continuing to build academic and youth development skills during the summer months, we are working towards lessening the achievement gap with low socio-economic families. To learn more about how the achievement gap can be affecting your children, click here.

Our goal is to provide fun and academically enriched programs focused on continuing youth development skills and growth. Students will have fun making friends, learning, going on trips to museums and camp, and so much more.

All of the programs offered tie into curriculum taught during the school year. Our staff and Providence teachers work together to teach classes in areas such as science, math, literacy, character development, physical activity, the arts, and service learning. We also place an emphasis on physical health and keep the kids active throughout the day.

Financial assistance is available to qualified applicants. For more information regarding the programs, contact Lauren Utschig at lutschig@gpymca.org
